You can do like Whizzerick says and go when the car beside you goes (just make sure he ain't turning left on a green arrow!), put that neat accessory on the dash, or wax the hood to a mirror-like finish.

I've got a visor on my '46 flatbed, and I tend to stop aways back from the light so as to see the color.

If the folks behind me don't like where I stop, they can go drive on their own street.
