I just wanted to add the fact that this is a non synchromesh tranny ,How will STP work in a synchromesh tranny ? I'm not sure ,but if it takes 80/90 w oil I'm thinking it should work ok .Also in a standard rear end that has no posi clutch pack .
Hi guys I have a 1952 Chevy 1 ton panel truck with a 4 speed top loader tranny .
same tranny as a big bolt
Last week on the way back from a trip with my 1948 chevy 2 ton flatbed about 139 miles from my home something in the rearend went pop .
So the only way I had to go get it home was with my 52 1 ton panel and towbar .
But the 52 tranny is really trashed ,if you have it in any forward gear and it starts to roll backwards with the clutch in - it will try to lock up .
Well I got an idea to add a couple of bottles of STP oil treatment to the tranny to help it deal with towing the 2 ton back . .
All I can say is wow .After it got all mixed in good, the tranny really is a lot more quite now and shifted much better. So If STP works this well on a tranny that is this bad ,I'm sure it would work really well in a good trany .
I just poped the shifter out and poured it in through there , being so thick it was the only way to get it in the tranny .
Just wanted to share this .
Oh by the way the panel towed it ok but was on the limit .
