I'm finally making progress on the 53. I took the fenders, running boards and hood in for blasting today. This guy does nice work.

I forgot to ask his advice, so I'll ask all of you. I have replacement panels to put into the cab (cab corners, floor and toe boards, maybe the outer cowl under the fender, etc.) and was wonfering if I should have it blasted first to get rid of the rust or if I should weld in the panels first.

I can see it both ways. On one hand, blasting may reveal more stuff needing replacement. On the other hand, it would be good to have it blasted totally clean just prior to painting.

What does the jury have to say?
