aloha, update on the 52 3/4 ton ; chassis & sheetmetal aluminium shotblasted, next welded a few minor holes , nothing serious , the truck must have been in a very very dry State, its almost as coming out of the factory. Anyhow i sprayed the chassis and cab in epoxy hi-build epoxy , after handfilling all joints with a thin variation of that epoxy. This will hopefully prevent any moisture to damage the metal. All joints will be filled with marine sealant later.
Ok the cab had some minor dents and the were filles with epoxy filler, as I don't want to seen any material which collect moisture.

Ordered the paint , the body will near white creme , the fenders will be dark petrol green, the 292 will gets its origional oker yellow , wow it has costed a lot of discussion that whole color scheme.... Glad thats decided.

As far as the 292 cid , the engine is bored 0.04 over & honed , new pistons are in , new camshaft , kept the crank ,that was ok , waiting for oversize crank bearings.
Unfortunatly ordered the wrong bolt pattern starter, aas i overlooked the 2 different castings of the engine , so i have to sell it locally..

Thinking of IFS , as i wonder if the standard leaf springs can take the larger force of diskbrakes , iam afraid i will bent them if you really do a crash stop. the 1/2 ton kits around ( besides being very expensive)does not seems to be strong enough for a 3/4 tonner.... Likely the best solution is to seek a wreckyard modern 2500 front axle..... Difficult to find here.. might have to buy a complete boneyard truck for that....

As was already known , the sourching of parts takes foreever , and is slowing the quick build, but its fun.
Keep you posted. Should have added pictures , but i have to take some tomorrow... Add them later. Cheers Sven
