I decided to devote some time last night to see if I could figure out how these clips are used. Not much activity on this thread, so doubt anyone really gives a hoot, but.....I did notice that all along the channel route around the window opening, there are strips of metal which appear to be bonded somehow to the door frame, but no bonding was applied to either end of the strip. This allows the clips to slip under that metal and stay in place. There are two sharp points on the flat surface of each clip that point outward, as if to stick into the channel and hold it in place. Pretty ingenious really, and probably made for very fast and efficient installation in the production line, except that I could not get the points to penetrate the window channel. Perhaps original channel in the day was all fabric and these sharp points could penetrate it, but the channel I have is basically fabric covering a metal channel that has been grooved so it will bend. The points just won't go into that, so I'm back to using either adhesive, or screws, or both to keep the channel in place. File that under, "For What It's Worth".
