I recently had an original wheel come apart when I hit a very small bump. It was on my 46 2-ton and was a two piece wheel. I was going maybe 25 mph and the outer ring hit a house. It was certainly an eye opening experience considering I had just had my 8 year old twins in it running twice that speed.
My point is that wheels are not something to mess around with. I was able to find 3 piece wheels and some other parts from the same year of truck to replace the other 2 two piece wheels.
Not worth the chance unless you have all the right tools!
