Agreed- #1 is to hot power wash away the root cause of the smell, but if the engine wash has to wait;
#2 would be a fresh air supply (which your exhaust fan will help).
#3 An essential oil diffuser
like this would also mask the smell. I think the trade name for the oil blend is "Purification", but just about any of the blends will help. I run an oil diffuser pretty regular; it's not like burning incense- it's a small humidifier.
We have to walk through the garage to get in the house, and my wife was pregnant when my truck first moved in. So, I heard
exactly what the truck smelled like. The diffuser helped out a lot & it was her idea.
