The Camaro T5 has the same shape case as the S10 trucks. It is not clocked. The Camaro bell housing is the reason for the apparent difference. This LINK to my website explains why the transmission is clocked when using a Camaro bell. My 1965 C10 has a standard cast iron bell and a Camaro T5. There is no rotation of the T5.

In general, the 4 cylinder S10 trucks have a 4.03 1st gear and a 0.86 OD gear but I do not consider that a hard and fast rule. The 6 cylinder trucks usually have a 3.75 first gear and a 0.72 OD. The V6 Camaro is usually the same gearing as the V6 truck. The V8 Camaro has a 2.95 1st gear. The earlier V8 Camaros had a 0.72 OD gear. Later they changed the OD gear to 0.63 which is not good for a lower HP inline six. The 0.72 is better for an inline 6. The 0.63 is OK if you have more HP such as a SBC V8.

The number you need will be 13-52-??? no others will help.

If you plan to run a mechanical speedometer you need to stay older than 86?, I could be off a year there.

Lugnutz (member here) also recommends turning input shaft and counting output shaft turns to absolutely test ratios. For a stockish engine I like a 1st gear in the high 3's low 4's with an overdrive ratio of 0.72.

Good Luck,

The cable speedo connection is found on 1988 and earlier S10 and GMC S15 and Sonoma trucks. All Camaro T5s have a cable speedo connection but the shifter is not in the correct position for a bench seat. It's too far back for a bench seat. I made a hybrid T5 for myself. I combined a V8 Camaro with a cable connection S10 tail housing. It gives me the nice V8 gearing and I was able to keep my factory cable speedo and my bench seat.

The metal tag has a 1352-### and it can also be found on a sticker on the lid. That is the only number used to identify the T5 using charts. The numbers cast into the metal are part numbers and not useful to determine the gearing. THIS LINK is a good review of what some of the markings mean.

World class and non-world class have similar strength. The general rule is 250 HP and 300 ft-lb of torque is the limit. I know for sure that people mate them to much more power and torque but drive normally and they do fine. They will not take abuse.
