So the hood on my '56 doesn't really line up right. Today I took the hood off the hinges and the hinges off the firewall. Then I set the hood back on and latched it. Wow! The hood lines up pretty nicely now. So I get to looking at the hinges. The two 'gears' on both, don't really line up well and chew the sides of the cogs, not what I would call the mating surfaces. This lack of "correct meshing" of those gears prevented the hood from closing all the way and/or properly. Is there any fix for this other than getting some repop hinges?? Is bending things to line up better an option?? Thanks in Advance!! grin
