I'm planning on cutting a strip of metal about as wide as the indentation that was under the molding. Then put a slight bend down the center of it in my brake. If you don't have a brake, you could do the same thing over a piece of angle iron.
With this piece to weld in, the hood won't have that miles of flat look. Just a nice peak down the center, kind of like the molding.
