Don't mean to toss sand into the gears but just in from the garage where my 59 with factory spot welded angle strips measure 16.5 inches from the top edge of the strip to the outgoing bend at the top of the bedside. I measured front, center, and back of both bedsides with less than 1/16 inch variation. Hope this helps.
