Cavebull the steering column was slid closer to the seat because the shaft was too long with that 70 frame and power steering, leaving less gut room,plus it was putting pressure on the rag joint so I cut prolly 2" of the shaft and welded back but used a sleeve and bolted it up in cause the weld broke, I would like to find the early 70's collapsible shaft...I was able to slide the column closer to the dash about 2" when doing this...
