Option 1-live with it.
Option 2-ditch the the in cab tank, the original bench seat and pedestal, the original steering column and steering wheel. Then install a tilt column, a smaller wheel of your choice, get a bench or bucket seat with a narrow backrest and make it power adjustable up and down and fore and aft. Only took me time and money, and 37 years later I have a 48 Chevy with all the room and comfort a 6' guy needs. And I'm still using the original steering wheel.
