Another member said all he did was move the rad to the front of the mount. The fan was close but safe and the head was 1/2 off the firewall.

My cab will need lots of sheet metal and as long as there is nothing in the way, I will even entertain a SMALL relief welded into the firewall. Picture a Thunderbird hood scoop....not the chrome part. nono

Not to move the engine back, just for more clearance...I will be using the stock trans with a '54 crossmember and 60's V-8 bellhousing. Truck is a "53.
