I wouldn't quite call it randomly replacing parts. The starter and the generator are very old and I'm sure are going to fail before too long so replacing them is part of what I figured in the cost of getting it into shape. Is there something else that could possibly ruin these two components if I install them? It has a new voltage regulator on it and the only other thing I can think of is a short in the wiring somewhere but I would think that would burn some wires or blow a fuse. Appreciate the input.
