Try to work the rear shift lever (the 1st./reverse) back and forth as someone else rocks the jacked-up wheel forward and back. Once the tension on the shift linkage is released, the trans should pop back into the neutral gate. Then center the column shift linkage and adjust the shift rods to fit the trans levers properly.
