I am near the end of my first 216 rebuild and was checking oil flow to the oil filter. I used a drill to operate the pump and the flow seems good but flows in through both inlet and outlet and the oil never drained back to the engine.
Does the oil canister have to be sealed for the drain to function? The inlet is attached to the oil pressure port and the return is attached to the oil distributor.
