Thanks Harold, im not sure if those would work or not.
looks to me like it basically just a covered cable, with 6 inches of metal armor on each end where its clamped, no built in springs or anything, the return force must be generated by the brake shoe return spring forcing the park brake mechanism back is all.
Maybe i'll try soaking them in diesel or something, maybe they would break free.
