We had one installed on and old Cadillac lathe, to power the motor and dial in RPM's. 24 inch chuck and a 16 foot bed. The old RPM's started about 3 and went to 28 in low range and then in high range it started at 78 to about 130 RPM. To me it always had a big gap between high and low. All the electronics did was adjust the sine wave from 60 cycles all the way down to zero. Gave us better RPM selection, but I felt that under a load and too long of a wave, that it could damage the old motor. If the motor is designed for that, it should work out fine.
