Not really, just mix it exactly to the proportions it says on the spec sheet. If you are doing a base/clear you may notice that the clear coat flashes pretty slowly, meaning you need to allow for the full flash time (20 minutes on the last stuff I used from Valspar) and be very careful to avoid runs. It flows out really nicely though.
