Tom Langdon sold me a refurbished HEI for my 6 cylinder. I was disappointed that the wiring harness had rotted wiring insulation but I didn't discover that until a year after the sale, so I didn't complain to him. It works great but doesn't look stock (not a big deal to me). This doesn't answer your question about recurving though.
