there is a relationship between the shroud and the fan to be efficient. the fan should sit right in the opening of the shroud, not inside of it. if you are running stock exhaust manifolds that is where the alt should mount on the s/pump.
with headers there are mounts that attach to the frt exhaust flange outlet. jegs or summit may have something. fan shouldn't be any closer than 3/4"
