Yeah, there are good reasons to go to a bigger Alt. I have an actual shunt from Stewart Warner, but there is no way I would put that under the dash. Just the two terminals having all of the Alternators current (Ammeter) is enough for me. Making suggestions and offering solutions to the public is something that is difficult to get right. Every angle and every intelligence level must be considered. Even though it is their choice, offering solutions that can lead to fires or extra expense is something I try to avoid like the plaque.
