| | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | The surface finish you are seeing is aluminum oxide, which is much harder than unoxidized aluminum and almost impossible to mechanically polish. There are chemicals you can buy that convert aluminum oxide back to metallic aluminum. This page has some good tips for polishing all kinds of metals.
