I spoke with a timber supply person who does swaging and crimping for the timber industry and he said silver soldering would be best for this little job c53. Interesting little bit of fabrication you did Gazz, I'll keep your method in mind because it sounds like a great alternative if not the best method to go with. Thanks all for your help in this little fix-it!
