We rebuild ones for the ones we restore. About the only wear places are the round shoulder on the lower lever and the hole it turns in at the bottom of the case plus the slots in the shift levers. The selector tang can also wear. Some tig and mig welding plus a little time on the Bridgeport and lathe will make them new again. We don't do outside machine work but any machine job shop can easily do this. If one of the computer gurus would program a 3D printer to make the patterns for the case halves, upper and lower, then the mold and casting would be very simple I'd think. I think the rubber dust boot is available and springs can be bought by diameter and wire size. With all this said, 99% of the time we can find one in near new condition which is way better for the customer.
