I wired in LED tail lights as my nut-and-bolt nears completion. The running lights work but not the brake lights. I checked and there's no power to either of the leads at the switch up front (with the key on).

Just so this truck can be road-worthy is there some reason I can't run power from anywhere - the battery - to one side of that brake switch? Yes, it would be a constant power, but it's not like I'll sit there with my foot on the brake pedal overnight.

If that works, does anyone know off hand which color lead is the incoming?
And where I should start to do a true diagnostic?

A VW guy trying his hand at a '59 LB fs. Lots to learn, but it's about the journey.
