Hi, 7998, I think you mean 3:55 gears. It is true that the US gears are NOT a straight bolt in, but the US ring gear Will fit the Canadian carrier with modification. What I did was take the old 4:11 ring gear and the new 3:55 ring gear to a machine shop and have them slot the new gear to match the old gear. ( Bolt holes are on a different base circle) All the other parts will bolt in. With the drive shaft apart you should replace the front drive shaft bushing and seal assembly and the rear axle seals. I purchased the ring gear set from Patrick's in the US. Also get the speedo adapter from them. I am Very happy with change in gearing. Have Fun, Brian
