I had to run an errand in St. Joe, MO this morning. As I approached St. Joe on a two-lane road I joined a short convoy headed by a big old truck doing about 45-50 in a 55 zone. As we neared I-29 the road expanded to four lanes. The old flat-bed truck stayed to the right and I slowly passed on the left. I noticed the Alabama license plate (long way from home). Then I recognized the '54 GMC 643 former-fire-truck. When I was abeam the cab I hollered "Hi Ed!" You should have seen the look on his face. I've never met Ed Pruss and he doesn't know me from Adam. But his truck was at the S/Bolt reunion truck show in KC last weekend. Hotrod Lincoln had driven it from south Tennessee to KC and regaled us with stories of the truck's troubled travels from Alabama towards Colorado. Traffic didn't allow for me to hail down Ed but he was "west-bound and truckin!"
