Just went to the post office, and when I came back out and hopped in the truck ('51 3100 w/ 235 engine), I hit the foot starter, and it just kind of grunted. After that, it wouldn't make any noise at all. Hit it a few times with my hammer to see if there was a stuck solenoid, but no help, so I coasted backwards and popped the clutch. Before I order a new starter, or rebuild it, I'm ordering a new starter switch that sits on top of the starter motor. Anybody have any opinions or experience with this "all of a sudden" type failure on these? It's never missed a start in the almost 2 years I've owned it. BTW, it's 12v) Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions. Lee
