If I remember correctly, there two holes in the later blocks for the small bell crank assembly to mount. Look for that second hole as it might match up better for you. I have a 56 261 in my 37 truck which originally had a 216 1st style and the 261 holds and works my bell crank with my original gas pedal and linkage for two carbs. I had to alter the rod slightly, but it works good. You should be able to make an accelerator rod fairly easily, if need be.
