I am helping a friend redo a 57 Cameo and his tailgate is pretty much garbage. The inner bed sides are also not usable. Are there replacement tailgates and if not, can you take a regular tailgate and weld in the handles openings from the original Cameo tailgate? Will the inner bed sides to a stepside work for the inner bedsides of a Cameo if the fender holes are welded up?
