Tomorrow I am going to pick up a vortec 5.7 engine, it was a crate engine that was not used so I am going to give it a chance. The story is that it was supposed to be 375hp and 500 plus torque, to start with I don't know if these numbers are realistic, just what I was told by PO. It now has the factory intake and fuel system, i plan to put carb on it with new manifold. I was told it came from orange co. Engines in ca. Do you think they keep good records so I could contact them for a build sheet? What recommendation do you have for an intake manifold and carb combo. Also electric fuel pump. The po also said it has an upgraded cam. All of these claims are questionable unless I can get a build sheet. What are your thoughts? By the way, I will be using a th400 trans. Dave
