Find another shop. All it really needs is a quick trip across a big belt sander, and a lot of older automotive machine shops have such equipment. For a quick and dirty fix, leave the intake and exhaust bolted together and sand them both at the same time. If you've got a pretty good sized woodworking belt sander and a long straightedge like a 4 foot carpenter's level, it's a do it yourself project. Use a coarse sanding belt like a 40 or 60 grit, and take your time, checking often with the straightedge.
