I had to make up the vertical linkage piece on my 54 235 engine to clear the Fenton headers, the std linkage wouldn't work.
I used 1/4" round stock that I heated to make the bends.
Made a template out of a coat hanger.
You may have to go that route.
You could also try
Tom Langdon as he sells performance parts for these old stovebolts including carb/linkage kits.
