Another interesting anomaly is that the earlier year distributors have a very sharp cut to the lobes. There is no rounding at all. Before I looked at a few I would have shrugged it off as wear, but nope, sharp hexagon shape as opposed to a more rounded one. Seems that could cause dwell issues.
