When I got this truck, the heat tube that activates the automatic choke was just hanging down near/touching the exhaust manifold - is it supposed to be fastened some way, or does it just have the be in the neighbourhood?

Looks like about 60-70°) I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it should only be moved about 3 notches in either direction when adjusting. Is that true, or is this much of an adjustment pretty normal?
