Thank you for your input Achipmunk. This topic probably shouldn't be in the electrical section but I don't know where else to post it. The capillary tube is not kinked or bent but that doesn't mean the ether has not leaked out at some point. Is the ether in the tube pressurized so it stretches the spring into tension? It takes a bit of pushing with my finger to counter the spring so the needle goes to the 100 mark. When I let go, it jumps back to 220. As I said, the unit is pinned to the 220 mark at all times so I'm wondering if there is a counter-spring that should be holding it to the 100 mark that is missing? Thank you!!
