Since the total weight of the furniture is not too excessive, I am thinking of buying a 4x8 utility trailer from Harbor Freight. The price is about $100 less than the cost of renting a U-Haul trailer, and I will still have it for future use.
My existing hitch is well suited for a trailer of this type.
