The 283 has a 1/8" pipe thread beside the distributor for oil pressure. There is an adapter available to go from the pipe thread to a compression fitting on the oil pressure line, which is usually a 1/8" or 3/16" OD copper tube. Most well-equipped parts stores will have an assortment of brass compression fittings, but don't ask the mouth-breather computer jockey at the counter to help you find the right fitting. Look for the gray bearded oldtimer who knows how to read a paper catalog and has more than three brain cells to rub together!
