| | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 1,214 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 1,214 | Usually the dist vacuum advance is taken below the closed throttle plate. This way theres no vacuum advance provided at idle.
As the throttle plate begins to open vacuum is then produced to advance the timing to a point where the mechanical advance takes over.
