| | | | Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 190 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 190 | Some of the cast iron end plates used on those starters had no bushing in them. The armature shaft ran in a machined hole and you had an oil wick and metal oiler cap to oil the wick. They eventually got away from this and put bushings in all of them and did away with the oiler.
