235 with the stock single barrel carb and setup.
I've got this project to the point where I can fire up the engine, and the good news is, it runs. But...
At the first attempt it would run for 1 second and then die. Also, gas leaked out of both the upper and lower gasket on the front side of the carb. I opened it up and reset the float to the spec 1 3/4" (it was off by about 1/8") and that gave me some improvement. Now it will continue to run but at a very high rpm even with throttle knob all the way in. The longer it runs the faster it goes. Also, I still have gas coming out of both gaskets.
Should I continue to reduce float drop? Should I have used gasket sealer?
