I have installed a new alternator on my 283 chevy engine, along with a new 12 volt American Autowire harness. I have had the battery disconnected while I worked on the rest of truck. Yesterday I hooked up the battery cables and noticed that the alternator started to feel warm while sitting and not running. Have I left something out or wired it incorrectly? I followed the directions exactly on the wiring diagrams, it runs fine when I start it up. 1953 Chevy pickup w/ mustang II front conversion/TH350 and 10 bolt rear out of a '68 Firebird. Thanks in advance for your advice.
