There is a similar plug on the side. Fill it through this opening to about 1/2 in below the level of the plug. Use gear grease like 85/140 weight. If you use GL-5 you can use the same in the rear end.
The first thing a guy should do when he gets one of these old trucks is to change all the fluids.
