I'm swapping the original RE in my 52 3100 with a RE from an '85 Monte Carlo and a T5 tranny from an 88 Sonoma. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using the original leaf springs vs changing to springs from say an S10 or Sonoma? I know the 1 3/4" perches will have to be welded to the RE if using the original leafs. I'd also like to drop the rear about 3". How might I accomplish that without a drop kit? As always, I appreciate the wisdom guys.
