Make sure that it is the rear main seal that's leaking. I had a serious leak from the front of the transmission on my 47 CJ2A.
It's different oil but basically leaks from the bellhousing in the same location as the rear main. They could both be leaking.

Its engine oil for sure. What made your trans leak?I am thinking about starting it up on the ground after i replace the seal.
