Yeah, Randy is talking about an older style. In the newer style there are actual passages in the engine and no copper tube until you get to the rocker arm assembly. Look in the 1958 Shop Manual and there is a picture of the proper part that you need in its original configuration.

The motor machine shop will take care of deciding what to do about the cylinder taper.
