The bus shop I used to work at had a body as well. They did quite a bit of fiberglass work, you know bus drivers! Anyway, they used this blue epoxy glue to repair the hoods, It seemed to hold pretty good. I wish I could remember what it was called. I know they got it at the local paint supply. I am going to do the same as you are, I don't want to drill holes. I was hopeing to get away with out the rear fender braces. My truck didn't have any on it and I'm getting tired of ordering parts.
