the cross member doesn't need to be fixed to the frame beforehand - as 3B says, the stock rear mount can locate the engine position .... also, yes, you'll definitely need a fan shroud the V8 sit too far back from the rad - and a stock rad can probably handle most towing if it's in good shape and conditions aren't severe, otherwise you might want to find a thicker replacement
